Mom suffered a second bleed today, This time in the right side of her brain. It happened sometime between this mornings CT scan (at about 4am) and the one they did at about 3pm .. The problem is that she never woke up today. She just slept. And she had even less responses. As the Dr. told me of the new find I tried to just listen to the facts and not get all emotional. Which I was able to do.. (surprise) Even though it seems like he was talking in slow motion and everything else in the world was blurred out.
This new bleed brings her back to the 3-4 day danger zone. He calls it code. They will continue life saving efforts at this time even though.. he says... they may not be successful.
The way everyone was acting this afternoon the word was out that she may not make it. After Tracy got here from Missouri at about 630, they let us ignore the ICU rules of only 2 people and no visitors from 7-9pm.
Basically if she pulls through it will be a miracle. And even if she does she will have to have constant care. The way it was put, the meeting tomorrow will be more about making her final days manageable. We will do a small feeding tube and the decision will be made to follow moms wishes on DNR.
But we will see what tomorrow will bring. Tammy plans on camping out over night there and Tracy is going to hang as long as she can. Hopefully I will see everyone in the morning.
